'Policing Flint' is a virtual reality documentary piece created for The New York Times virtual reality department NYTVR. This project posed the interesting challenges of both documentary production sound recording and 360° video production.

From Oakland to Ferguson to Chicago to Flint, policing in America is in crisis. Due to recent tragedies, many citizens are calling into question the legitimacy of the police. But the public often does not often get to see or understand what police deal with every day. In 'Policing Flint', audiences are offered a window into the world of how the men and women of the Flint Police Department approach their work. By experiencing their physical perspectives and hearing narration from officers faced with the complexities of policing, the audience will gain an understanding of what the police see and think as they go out on patrol or investigate a crime.
